Also some coyotes - I guess they qualify as dogs here in Tucson. I've also done a few portraits of children lately. Here's Isaac.
Here are 3 Western New York inspired paintings. The beach is at Lotus Bay on Lake Erie where Toby has a summer home. It was a cloudy day and then the sun broke through and lit up the clouds and water. The other scene shows Lake Erie when it's calm and the waves barely ripple as they come ashore. The farm is an Amish farm in an area about 25 miles south of Toby's house where many Amish families have settled in the Conewango Valley, Cattaraugus County, NY.
Here's my latest painting for the Mountain Oyster Club western art show. It's an entry and has to be juried in - here's hoping! It's taken loosely from a photo of a roundup in Arivaca, AZ. That's a real Cowboy. I don't think there are many left.
The longhornsteer is the second painting of this fellow that I've done. In this painting he's looking at you instead of ambling off into the dusk. I painted the mule deer with a cheap 1" brush from Ace Hardware. I also used smaller brushes for detail, but the 1" brush was great. Painting was much faster and freer. The blue window is a house in the Santa Rosa Barrio of Tucson. The Bird of Paradise plant was a challenge.Judy Nostranthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04779291385617269631noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9014218425711924779.post-87186499899085021972012-07-24T13:00:00.000-07:002012-07-24T13:00:19.657-07:00

This is a painting of my favorite Mexican restaurant that I've been going to for 35 years. They specialize in green corn tamales and they are such a special treat! There aren't many restaurants in the United States that make green corn tamales and Lerua's makes the best!

Judy Nostranthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04779291385617269631noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9014218425711924779.post-53077211498945642512012-07-05T18:28:00.001-07:002012-07-05T18:28:42.848-07:00

Well, it's been a while. Here's a new painting. These are poppies growing next to the woods by my little old school house in East Aurora. I think they may have been originally planted by the students at the school that was built around 1880.Judy Nostranthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04779291385617269631noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9014218425711924779.post-41503647032404624152011-01-05T12:16:00.000-08:002012-06-07T17:51:40.772-07:00
