Here are 3 Western New York inspired paintings. The beach is at Lotus Bay on Lake Erie where Toby has a summer home. It was a cloudy day and then the sun broke through and lit up the clouds and water. The other scene shows Lake Erie when it's calm and the waves barely ripple as they come ashore. The farm is an Amish farm in an area about 25 miles south of Toby's house where many Amish families have settled in the Conewango Valley, Cattaraugus County, NY.

This is a painting done on a masonite board.
It's the gate in my backyard with poppies in the sunlight.

Here's Viggo with his trusty Thomas lunch box (14" x 18" oil on canvas). Paige looking out the door (20" x 24" oil on canvas). A peony (10" x 8" oil on canvas) and poppy (10" x 8" oil on canvas). Just click on a painting to see a larger version.

I've been working toward a more impressionistic style. Here are some geese and a barrio window with shadows.

Here's my latest painting. Trying to work in a looser style. Uncle Tom and Viggo from a photo taken 3 years ago.

Here's my latest painting for the Mountain Oyster Club western art show. It's an entry and has to be juried in - here's hoping! It's taken loosely from a photo of a roundup in Arivaca, AZ. That's a real Cowboy. I don't think there are many left.

I'm painting a lot these days and am going to enter my work in a few shows. That's Larry getting ready for a roundup 30 years ago. Also Larry with the little calf. Clementine with her beloved horse Pedro and a Vermillion Flycatcher (photo courtesy of Andy)
